At the Kallner Invitational on Saturday, April 25, Academy delivered several strong performances across events, leaning on its distance runners and field athletes to pace the meet with consistency.
Chris H. placed first place in the 3200, breaking away late to win in 9:52 and secure Academy’s top performance of the day. Andy B. doubled in the distance events, grinding to 18th in the 1600m (5:09) before returning for an eighth-place finish in the 3200m (10:54). Ryan W. added a steady effort in the 1600m, finishing 24th in 5:28.
In field events, Cody H. launched a throw of 145 feet to claim second place in discus, while Desmond W. competed in the boys 200m dash, clocking a 27.21. The girls’ 4×800 relay team of Miranda B-Y, Julia M., Claire C., and Claire H., fought hard through each leg, earning sixth place with a season team record of 11:11.52. Later on, Claire C. and Julia raced through the 1600 race, earning eleventh and twelfth, respectively, with Miranda B-Y and Claire H. closing out the girls end with strong 800 performances.
