Family and friends gathered in the Morris Art Gallery on Wednesday, April 23, to celebrate the Fine Arts seniors’ paintings, sketches, photos, and ceramic pieces that comprised the annual Senior Art Show.
The exhibit featured 34 seniors whose work ranged from paintings, like Bebe S.’s large, nostalgic pieces, Angela Z’s hyper-realistic portraits, Abigail X’s sculptures, like the emotional works of Abigail X., functional pottery like the display by Lauren S., and photography, like Michael M.’ shadowy shots.
In addition to the gallery, this year’s two-hour reception included food, cake, and a small recognition and awards ceremony. Photography teacher and art coordinators, Ms. Tursich, said the gathering is even more fun when combined with the Lower and Middle School art shows. Tursich said, “I encourage all of my seniors to get with their kindergarten buddy and walk through the Lower School Art Show and bring them back to the Senior Art Show.”
If you missed opening night, the gallery will stay up until the end of Honors Assembly on May 22, to view the four-year artistic journeys of our graduating Fine Arts seniors.
