On Friday, April 17, Bexley hosted a division-wide track meet, hosting Bishop Ready, Worthington Christian, St. Charles, Hamilton Township, and Wellington.
In the 4×800-meter relay, Chris H., Dane C., Giuseppe P., and Andy B. pushed the pace early, staying within striking distance of the leaders while exchanging the baton cleanly under pressure. Strong performances from Bexley and St. Charles ultimately secured them first and second places, respectively, leaving Academy to claim third. The 4×1600-meter relay told a similar story, with the team securing third place behind the same top two teams.
In the field events, Cody H. delivered a standout performance in discus, with a 136m throw to secure first place. He carried that momentum into the shot put, where he earned second place at 43 meters. Teammate Brian A. added to the team’s strength in the event with a mark of 42 meters, giving Academy a strong presence in the throwing circle.
The girls 4×1600-meter relay team delivered one of the meet’s most impressive performances. By the final leg, Academy had taken control, surging ahead to capture a first-place finish. In the high jump, Lizzie B earned third place.
