Here’s a look at what’s been happening in the sports world.
Rory McIlroy finally got over that major slump and has now won back-to-back at Augusta. McIlroy led all four days of the tournament, though world #1 Scottie Scheffler gave him a run for his money over the weekend, going bogey-free on both Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough for Scottie to claim first, as he finished one stroke back of Rory. Rory’s win led to some criticism due to his skipping tournaments leading up to The Masters to practice more at Augusta. I say the criticism is unfair, as every Masters champion has had the opportunity to play the course as much as they want. They simply chose not to take advantage of this opportunity.
The NBA playoffs are starting this week following an intense Play-In tournament, which saw the Blazers and Suns get in the west, and the Sixers and Magic edging in in the east. Title favorites are obviously the Thunder and the Spurs in the west, and the Celtics in the east. The Lakers are without their backcourt for much of, if not all of, the first round as both Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves are both nursing injuries. This means 41-year-old LeBron James must lead the Lakers past the Rockets.
