On Monday, April 13, the Vikes faced the Whitehall Rams for the second time this year. This game went about as expected for the Vikes as they easily took care of the Rams by a score of 23-2. This completed the regular season sweep of Whitehall for the Vikes, winning the two games by a combined score of 40-2.
Following this game, the boys traveled to Capital University to take on rival Bexley for the first time this year on Wednesday, April 15, winning by 10-9. Baseball was given a day off following this game but was right back to it on Friday, April 17, at home against Bexley. The Vikes took business this time by a score of 4-0. Senior Cooper L. was pivotal to the Vikes success as he struck out 13 hitters and only allowed one hit on the mound.
The Vikes will return to action on Monday, April 20 as they face the Buckeye Valley Barons early in the week and then look to take on the Franklin Heights Falcons.
Last week on Monday, April 6, as they faced the Warriors of Worthington Christian at Stahl Field, and found themselves tied entering the seventh inning. The Warriors plated all three of their runs in this inning, ending the game at a score of 3–0 in favor of Worthington Christian. Following this game, the boys returned to the Diamond on Wednesday, April 8, where they once again faced the Warriors, this time getting the better of them thanks to a great performance on the bump by Dominic D. This resulted in a 5-3 win for the Vikings. After a short break in action, the boys returned for back-to-back games against The Whitehall Yearling Rams on Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11, against Fredericktown Freddies. These games saw the Vikings come out victorious at scores of 17-0 and 10-0, respectively.
