Boys Tennis Kicks Off Season

Following an historic 17-0 undefeated 2025 season, the tennis Vikes kicked off 2026, winning two of their first four matches. 

The team began on their home courts with a sweep against Worthington Christian on Tuesday, April 7, defeating them 5-0. Sujay B. and Arjun S., playing first and second singles, dominated their matches 6-0, 6-1. Similarly, Jackson A. won his third singles match 6-1, 6-0. The doubles teams also came out on top, with the duo of Ian C. and Jayden T. reuniting from last season to earn a 6-1, 6-4 victory. To seal the sweep, Arnav E. and Luke P. secured a 6-2, 6-0 win.

The following day, Uppwr Arlington defeated the Vikes in all five matches. First singles player Sujay started strong, but fell 4-6, 0-6, while Arjun lost 4-6, 2-6. Similarly, Jackson lost 6-7, 1-6, and both doubles teams were defeated  2-6, 2-6, and 1-6, 1-6.

On Thursday, April 9, the team took on Whitehall and swept the Rams 5-0. All matches ended 6-0, 6-0, except for Sujay, who won 6-1, 6-0.

The Vikes faced Massillion Jackson on Saturday, April 11, before Prom, but fell 2-3. Doubles teams Ian and Jayden, along with Jackson and Theo C., both earned points for the Vikings, winning 6-3, 7-5, and 7-5, 6-2, respectively. The singles matches were not as successful, with Sujay losing 1-6, 3-6, Arjun falling 4-6, 3-6, and Luke losing 4-6, 2-6. 

With a 2-2 record, the Vikes will head into their second week with a busy five-match schedule, including a home matchup against rivals Bexley on Tuesday.
