It was a rough opening week for baseball as itlost the first four games of the season. These included Heath on Saturday, March 28 which ended 10-0 in favor of the Bulldogs. They followed this game with back-to-back games, facing the Norton Panthers on Monday, March 30, and the Bishop Hartley Hawks on Tuesday, March 31. The Vikes dropped both games, falling to the Panthers by 8-1 and to the Hawks 17-3. The boys then traveled to Johnstown to face the Johnnies and fought through 7 innings but fell by 7-5. Boys baseball has so far struggled against these powerhouses in their respective divisions.
Although it has been a sluggish start to the season, the Vikes look to make a strong postseason push as they are retaining key players from last year’s team including, Central Buckeye League Player of the Year and Dennison commit, Dominic D. and Otterbein commit Cooper L., as well as key juniors William D., Anthony P., Thomas R., and Trey R.
The boys return to action on Monday, April 6, as they travel to Worthington Christian to face the Warriors. and will mark their first Central Buckeye League divisional game of the year.
