The historic Dolby Theater finished off the 2026 Oscars with host Conan O’Brien at the 98th anniversary. From actors to musicians, each celebrity spared no effort in delivering the perfect runway looks.
This year’s theme was” humanity” or “a human touch,” with a focus on sustainability, so celebrities’ attire incorporated natural elements like flowers and feathers into their outfits.
Color also dominated the carpet. Felicity Jones, for example, dazzled in a pastel yellow Prada gown featuring pleated tulle, and Renate Reinsve modeled a silk, strapless, red Louis Vuitton dress with a high slit. At her very first appearance at the Oscars, Chase Infiniti debuted a lavender gown accompanied by a ruffled train.
The classic glamour of old Hollywood made another iconic appearance on the red carpet with Rose Byrne arriving in a traditional black strapless Dior dress with floral embroidery. KPop Demon Hunters star, Arden Cho, wore a black laced gown with a green silk stole that included floral patterns.
The unique theme of feathers emerged as a popular trend of the evening. Numerous stars included feathers into their red carpet look this year with Hollywood star, Pedro Pascal adding a unique large feather brooch to a jacketless tuxedo shirt. Teyana Taylor, a main contender for best dressed, posed in a laced dress with black and white feathers from head to toe.
Beyond fashion, many celebrities used their influence to make political statements. Several actors wore red ‘Artist4Ceasefire’ pins. Actress Saja Kilani sported a black dress accompanied by the pin.
While the women strutted on the carpet, the men focused on the traditional black-tie attire. Singer Shaboozey, who performed that night, modeled a Balenciaga tailcoat, black vest, and a pearl pocket chain. While, Best Actor winner Michael B. Jordan wore a gold pocket chain and a black Louis Vuitton suit. Additionally, Hudson Williams and Joe Alwyn styled a black Balenciaga tuxedo and a black Valentino suit, respectively.
Beginning in 1929, the Oscars have evolved to bright colors, feathers, and political fashion pieces that brought modern-day looks to the carpet. Yet, several actresses celebrated old Hollywood and the actors that had come before them. As always, the red carpet was filled with fabulous looks and unforgettable pieces but the stage celebrated outstanding achievements in film.
