Academy’s Health Occupations Students of America competed in HOSA’s regionals at the Delaware Area Career Center on February 20. Many students delivered outstanding performances, earning qualifications for the state competition in Toledo from April 15–17.

Chaz M. placed 1st in Extemporaneous Writing –Health Policy, Kaito McC. also earned a 1st in Behavioral Health, and Mihika M. took 1st in Research Poster. In Medical Math, Emily V. H. and Aashi V. tied for 1st, while Claire Z. placed 4th. Makenzie L. also qualified for states with a 4th-place finish in Nutrition. Academy’s HOSA Bowl Team A of Sujay B., Guszti C., Sahil S., and Aiden Z, and Sahil placed 3rd, qualifying for states.

Several additional students earned top-10 regional finishes but did not advance to states: Jude S. (6th, Dental Terminology), Agastya V. (10th, Medical Terminology), Hari B.(6th, Pathophysiology), Maryam S. (7th, Nutrition), Avery M. (5th, Research Poster), and Olivia L.(5th, Nutrition).

Co-leader Chaz said, “I am really proud of the number of members who went to regionals and competed. We are looking forward to going to the state competition soon.”

These accomplishments reflect the mission of HOSA–Future Health Professionals, which prepares students to become healthcare leaders.
