The boys basketball team hosted Grove City Christian for its first tournament game at home on Saturday February 28. Both teams came out strong in the first quarter, trading points, but Academy managed to lead 15-10 at the end of the first quarter. The Vikings picked up momentum in the second quarter, outscoring the Eagles 11-2. The score read 26-12 going into halftime. Grove City Christian bounced back in the third quarter, scoring 11 points while Academy put up 8. The Vikes sealed the victory in the final quarter as they tallied 10 more points to take home a 44-29 win. This win gives Coach Warstler his 250th career win.
The boys are back in action on Wednesday, March 4, when they face Utica in the districts semifinals.
