Laughter and music filled the brightly colored Dining Hall on Saturday, February 8, for WINFO, our annual Winter Formal. Decorated with a Mardi Gras theme, the space was covered in beads and bold-colored masks, creating an energetic setting for students from all grade levels to come together for the night.
Because Student Council wanted a theme that encouraged interaction and participation, “Mardi Gras stood out because it naturally creates energy and excitement and gives lots of creative freedom with beads, masks, games, and music,” Krish said.
Budgeting played a major role in shaping the event, considering the costs for the DJ, lighting, food, and decorations. Krish said, We could not do everything we imagined, so we had to prioritize what would make the biggest difference for students.”
Throughout the night, students participated in bead games and danced with friends. For Krish, seeing this level of engagement was the most rewarding part of the event.
“I am most proud of how engaged everyone felt,” Krish said. “Seeing students playing the bead games, laughing with friends, and actually participating showed that the event built real community.”
WINFO brought together creativity and collaboration, resulting in a night that blended school spirit with celebration. ans continued a tradition that connects the Academy community each winter.
