On Tuesday, January 6, the boys basketball team traveled to Whitehall-Yearling for its first matchup of the week. Both the Vikings and the Rams came out strong and battled for every point, making it a close game. Academy created a 10-point lead in the second half while limiting Whitehall to very few buckets. So, despite being a low scoring affair, the Vikings captured a 35-21 win, making them 4-1 in the CBL. In addition, Jason S. scored 19 points to eclipse the 1,000 point mark in his career.

The Vikes were back in action on Saturday, January 10, as they welcomed Franklin Heights to the Mack. Academy dominated in the first quarter, outscoring the Falcons 16-0. In the second quarter, Franklin Heights finally put some points on the board but the Vikings still kept their foot on the gas, bringing the score to 33-10 at the half. The boys continued to dominate the rest of the game, capturing a 61-17 win.

Looking ahead, the boys travel to Bexley on January 13 and host Kenton Ridge on January 17.
