The boys and girls cross-country teams capped off an outstanding season on Saturday, October 31, at states in Fortress Obetz, where they competed against the fastest runners in Ohio.
Claire C. finished in 21:28 to place 139th, with Livia P. crossing in 21:44 for 149th, and Maryam C. rounding out with a 22:36 finish,for 176th overall.
Giuseppe P. was the first Viking across the line, running 17:34 to place 151st. Andrew B. followed in 17:53 for 170th, and Chris H. finished in 17:57, taking 174th in his final high school race.
Captain Chris H. said, “I am proud of this group of boys and girls for our hard work this year as we set history together.”
The future looks bright for the Academy cross country team as the team builds on this year’s success and continues to chase excellence. The boys will look to rebuild as they lose two key seniors, Chris H. and Dane C.
