On Tuesday, October 21, the seniors and their kindergarten buddies gathered in the Dining Hall and paired off to decorate pumpkins, with abundance of supplies, including feathers, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, pom-poms, stickers, beads, sharpies, gems, and glue to piece them altogether.
Laughter and conversation filled the room as everyone worked side by side bringing their imaginations to life. Some pairs chose classic Halloween arrangements like spooky faces or silly monsters while others let their creativity drive the bus, creating an original design. My buddy and I dolled up our pumpkin’s face with makeup and gave it some crazy feathered hair.
By the end of the activity, craft supplies covered the tables as the Dining Hall had been transformed into a pumpkin gallery as we lined our creations along the Fireside window sill.
Seniors will rejoin their buddies and express their creativity once again on Tuesday, November 18, for a Thanksgiving event with decorating an apple with candy to replicate a turkey.
