Girls soccer swept Buckeye Valley on Tuesday, October 20, by three for a spot in the district finals. The game started strong, despite the unexpected rain and wind, with Harper B-M. gaining a lead in the first half with a completed goal. Player of the Match, Allison F., built on this momentum with two touches into the net during the second half. She says, “It was a collective effort from the whole team and added to our undefeated season on Hondros.”

On Saturday, the girls won the district final (1-0) against Worthington Christian. Sydney S. secured the goal with Harper B-M. assisting her at the net. Harper says, “We knew this game was going to be a big obstacle in our postseason journey. We hadn’t beaten them in the regular season, so I know all of us wanted to win in the postseason. It was a very scrappy game, but all the players fought with grit.” Gia C., specifically, fought hard, earning the title of Player of the Match.

Following this week’s victories, the Vikes will take on Poland Seminary on Tuesday, October 28, competing for the regional title.
