Girls tennis advanced to team states following a 3-2 victory over Columbus School for Girls on Monday, October 6, clinching the Division II Central District spot. Gabrielle edged out her first singles opponent 6-4, 7-5. Ella had a smoother first set at 6-0  and took the win following a contested 7-5 second set. Zephyr H. rounded out the singles in third, falling  6-2, 6-0. First doubles pair Sophie W. and Lara W. secured the Viking win, beating their duo 6-2, 7-5. Ela K. and Iris S. fell 6-2, 6-2 in second doubles. 

The district champion duo of Gabrielle S. and Ella T. also advanced to individual states, following their tournament victory on Saturday, October 11. After claiming their Division II state tournament doubles ticket, Ella and Gabrielle won the district title on Saturday, October 11, beating the CSG duo of Priya M. and Victoria D. 6-3, 6-2.

Gabrielle and Ella look to cap off their season on a high note at the Division II State Championship at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, from Thursday, October 16, to Friday, October 17.
