Girls Soccer Gains Another Win

The Vikes honored Breast Cancer awareness during their game on Wednesday, October 1, while playing against St. Francis DeSales. The attending student section and family wore pink, giving players a motivating cause that helped them “give 110% effort,” said Harper B-M. However, the beginning still started out rocky: “We had trouble connecting passes within our team. Then we stepped it up, and Sydney S. got a goal,” says Harper. Adding to this momentum, senior Allison F. completed a free kick, earning the Vikes another point. Tensions were high in the final minutes, as the team let a second goal in, resulting in a tied score. In response, freshman Sydney dribbled to the net to score a game-winning shot to secure the 3-2 triumph, leading the team in goals and gaining the title of Player of the Match.

Looking ahead on this tight success, the girls 10-3-2 record will be put through a final test next week, concluding their regular season. Beginning with a match against Hamilton Township on Monday, the team will honor its five seniors on Wednesday for Senior Night against Whitehall-Yearling.
