Boys Soccer Loses to Grandview, Wins at Bishop Ready

On September 24, the Vikings competed at Grandview, squaring off against the Bobcats in an important conference dual. The Vikes battled all 90 minutes keeping the contest with one goal, but failed to close the gap losing 2-1, as they struggled to score in their 7th consecutive game with one goal or less.

On September 27, the Vikes took on opponent Bishop Ready on Hondros. The Silver Knights came into the match as the more proven team after having taken down Buckeye Valley, Whitehall, and Grandview, (all teams that our Vikes had fallen to). Looking for the upset, the Vikings found their rhythm with Timothy F. swiftly putting one in the back of the net to claim the lead early. Both teams went back and forth, with the Vikings piling on with goals from Luke and Tyler A. and refusing to let up in this shootout, taking the game 3-2. This win gave the Vikings a much-needed spark going into the back half of the season. Junior Brandon H. says, “This was a much needed win for the team and we look to take this momentum into the four games we have left.” With this rough season it is good to see a big win for the passionate team.

The Vikings play at Tree of Life on Tuesday, September 30.
