On Wednesday, September 17, the girls volleyball team returned to action as they faced the Columbus School for Girls Unicorns in the Mack looking to continue their win streak. Player Nour S. said, “We were hungry for another win, especially against CSG”. The Vikes won all three sets, sealing the abbreviated win. Nour also said, “Our effort was consistent, allowing us to sweep them in three.” This game was a huge win for volleyball, as they previously played CSG back in August.
The Vikes got back to work for their game against Grove City Christian on Saturday, September 20. The game went tremendously as Morgan S. And Kyndal S. dominated the court. Kyndal said, “We came ready to play tough in order to win out on the week.” The Vikes played with passion ending the game victorious at 3-0. Now on a hot streak of four straight wins and a record of 8-6 on the season and 6-4 in league play, the Vikings look to continue their domination next week.
The Vikings will return to action with a busy week as they travel to face Worthington Christian on Wednesday, September 24. They follow that up with the annual Dig Pink game vs Buckeye Valley on Thursday. Dig Pink is a fundraiser for the Side-Out Foundation which funds breast cancer research. Volleyball teams throughout the country host games similar to this to help fund cancer research. The Vikes will begin the JV game at 5:30 p.m., a short ceremony will follow, and then varsity play will commence. The Vikings goal for this year is to raise $2,500 for this important cause.
Following this game, the Vikings will host Grandview on Saturday, September 27.
