The girls track team competed at the Central Buckeye League Championship this week and placed 9th overall. Mila B. took 8th in the 100m dash, with a time of 13.39, and Morgan S. placed 3rd in the 200m with a time of 26.57 seconds. Morgan also ran a new personal record time of 58.7 seconds in the 400m run, placing her in 2nd. Miranda B-Y. and Lizzie B. also achieved new personal records in the 800m, claiming 9th and 10th respectively with times of 2:40.14 seconds and 2:40.35 seconds. Claire C. also ran a new personal record time of 6:13.95 seconds in the 1600m, earning her 9th place in the event. In the 3200m, Clara S. ran a season record time of 13:43.82 seconds, and Melanie Q. ran a time of 13:50.39. These times placed them in 6th and 8th. In the 4×400 relay, Claire, Miranda, Lizzie, and Sydney A. placed 9th with a new personal record time of 4:49.62 seconds. The relay team of Claire, Miranda, Melanie, and Clara also achieved a personal record by running a 10:58.71 seconds in the 4×800.

In track events, Isa E. placed 7th in shot put. Morgan claimed 2nd in high jump by jumping 5’0’’. Alisha A. also placed 7th in the long jump with a score 15′ 6″.

The team’s next event is districts at Granville on Tuesday, May 20.
