It was a mixed week for Columbus Academy baseball as the boys went 3-2 with games against Buckeye Valley, Franklin Heights, and St. Charles. The boys beat Franklin Heights 13-0 to open their week on Monday, May 5, lost to Buckeye Valley 10-0 on Wednesday, May 7, dominated Franklin Heights 23-3 again on Thursday, May 8, edged Buckeye Valley for a 3-2 revenge victory on Friday, May 9, and fell to St. Charles 1-3 game on Saturday, May 10.
Academy dominated Franklin Heights in their weekly opener, preventing a single run for the Falcons. William D., Dominic D., Theo F., Harmon G., Joey G., Anthony P., Trey R., and Sunil S. scored in the 13-0 shutout.
Wednesday’s game against Buckeye Valley played out the complete opposite, as the Vikes were outplayed and fell 10-0.
Academy rebounded on Thursday, slamming 23 runs against Franklin Heights for its second face off of the week. The Vikes exploded offensively, controlling the game out of the gate. Hayes D., William, Dominic, Theo, Harmon, Joey, Seth L., Anthony, Trey, Thomas R., Sunil, Aiden T., and Abe U. contributed to the victory.
The Vikes faced Buckeye Valley once more on Friday, May 9, looking for revenge for their 10-0 loss days prior. Academy edged the Barons in a low-scoring game, barely clenching the 3-2 victory with runs by Dominic, Theo, and Joey.
Closing the week, Academy fell to St. Charles 1-3. Sunil scored the lone run.
The boys will return to action on Wednesday, May 14, against Westerville North. As they prepare for a one-game week.
