Boys Track Concludes Regular Season

Sending its varsity runners to Newark Catholic on Thursday, May 8, the boys track team tallied 89 points, placing third out of 12 teams. 

The 4x200m and 4x400m relay squads both won gold, collecting 20 points total. Clement W., Nicholas J., Patrick F., and Gabe D-R. ran 1:34.30 in the former, while Patrick, Henry S., Nicholas, and Gabe finished 3:36.10 in the latter. In the 400m, Gabe soared to first with 50.59, and Patrick ran 52.29 for second. 

Other second-place finishes include Chris H. in the 1600m (4:42.45), Dane C. in the 3200m (10:15.68), and MJ J. as the lone field event scorer, throwing a personal record of 124-2 in shot put. 

Rounding out podium finishes, the 4x800m squad of Henry, Dane, Timothy F., and Chris finished third with 8:49.78, just 12 hundredths of a second behind Heath and 22 hundredths of a second behind first-place Fredericktown.

Congratulations to the boys on a successful regular season. Coming up marks the transition to postseason with the Central Buckeye League meet at Franklin Heights spanning two days: the first at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, and the second at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16.
