Girls Track Honors 10 Players on Senior Night 

Girls track team celebrated their seniors on April 30, hosting Bishop Watterson. Honorees included Alisha A., Isa E., Lindsey L., Jennifer L., Sophie L., Morgan L., Amelia N., Melanie Q., Clara S., and Katie V. The pre-meet ceremony began with each senior walking across the field with their families. 

Highlights were from Morgan S., who dominated in all her events yet again, winning first-place finishes in both the 200m and 400m dashes and in high jump. Mila B. thrived in the hurdles, placing second in the 100m hurdles and scoring first in the 300m hurdles. In mid-distance events, Claire C. placed third in both the 800m and 1600m runs. In the 100m dash, Sydney A. and Zephyr H. finished third and fifth respectively. Additionally, the 4x100m, 4x200m, and 4x400m relay teams earned second place. In field events, Alisha and Morgan claimed first and second in long jump. Lindsey claimed third in discus, while Isa and Zoe N. placed fourth and fifth in shot put.

The Vikes also competed at Fredericktown on Friday, May 2. Miranda’s placed 13th in the 800, while in the 1600m run, Claire earned 7th, followed by Miranda in 10th. Melanie secured 9thin the 3200, and in discus, Lindsey L. obtained 10th. 

The next meet for the Vikings is on Thursday, May 8, at Newark Catholic.
