Boys Tennis Remains Undefeated

The Vikings kicked off last week by travelling to Bexley for the second annual Madison Cup, which is played in honor of alumnus Jack Madison ‘21 who was a four-year letterwinner, co-captain, two time receiver of First Team All-Ohio 2x Division, and State Doubles Runner-Up for Columbus Academy. The Cup, which was won by the Lions last April (3-2), was awarded to the Vikes last week. Nason L. suffered a 1-6, 3-6 loss to his first singles opponent, but Lucas X. and Jacob K. won their second and third singles matches 5-7, 5-7, 6-3 and 3-6, 6-2, 7-6. Doubles duo Rowen L. and Ian C., along with Sujay B. and Jayden T., both earned 6-1, 6-3 victories, securing the Madison Cup for the Vikings (4-1). 

The Vikings second match was a sweep against Bishop Ready on Thursday. A switched-up lineup put Bennett at first singles with freshman Theo C. and Jackson A. in second and third singles. Nason worked with Sahil S. in first doubles, and Sarthak A. and Luke P. played second singles. All courts swept their opponents 6-0, 6-0 except for the second singles score of 6-1, 6-1. 

With an undefeated 10-0 win record, the Vikes have matches on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and a double-header on Saturday.
