On Tuesday, April 22, the boys lacrosse team faced off against Licking Valley on Carlin. The Vikings came out strong in the first half, outsourcing the Panthers 7-3 in the first quarter and 8-1 in the second. Post halftime, Academy’s defense weakened and its offense began to let off the gas, which resulted in Licking Valley tally of seven goals in the second half while the Vikes scored three. The Vikings managed to pull out a 18-11 win despite their sloppy second half performance.

On Thursday, April 24, the boys were back in action, hosting New Albany for its second game of the week. The Vikes and Eagles were neck-and-neck in the first quarter, with Academy scoring twice, while New Albany tallied 3. But this high intensity play was short-lived as the Vikings let up in quarter two, which allowed the Eagles to gain a 7-4 lead. Post halftime was no better for the Vikes as they were outscored 1-7 in the third quarter. Both teams put up two goals in the fourth, resulting in a 7-16 loss for the Vikings.

Looking ahead, the boys welcome Jonathan Alder on Tuesday, April 29, and then travel to Lincoln on May 1, and to Indian Hill on May 3.
