Competing at Bexley relays on Thursday, April 17, the boys track team placed fourth out of seven teams, tallying 66 points across running and field events.
Brian A. and MJ J. led with a combined first place in discus, throwing 138’ 9” and 123’ 8” for second and sixth, respectively. MJ also excelled in shot put, placing second with 43’ 1”. In high jump, Cole S. placed third and cleared 6’ while Caden I. achieved fifth with 5’10”, tallying a total of seven points for the team.
In the running events, Henry S., Giuseppe P., Chris H., and Dane C. competed in the 4x1600m and placed second with 19:26.46, shaving off nine seconds from last week’s time at Big Walnut. Henry, Chris, and Dane then joined Timmy F. in the final event of the night—4x800m—and claimed another silver, running 8:47.35. Continuing the second-place streak, Gabe D-R., Patrick F., Chris, and Nick J. tallied another in the 4x400m with 3:40.61.
As the second and final relay meet this year, the Vikings look toward individual races for the rest of the season. They will return to action on Tuesday, April 22, at Worthington Christian.
