On Wednesday, April 2, the girls track team competed at home against Cristo Rey, Horizon Science Academy, Gilead Christian, Kipp, Licking Heights, and Patriot Prep. Licking Heights took first place with a score of 145, and the Vikes followed with 123, with Cristo Rey in third with 60 points.
The Vikings won first in the 4×800-meter relay, finishing nearly a minute ahead of their nearest competition. Mila B. placed second in the 100-meter hurdles and 100-meter dash. In the 1600-meter run, the Vikes excelled, with Clara S. placing second, Miranda M-Y. placing third, and Claire C. placing fourth, gaining the team 18 points.
Morgan S. won 400-meter dash, while Zephyr H. placed fifth. Mila continued to shine in hurdles, placing second in the 300-meter. Lizzie B. and Claire C. placed third and fourth, respectively, in the 800-meter run. Additionally, Morgan placed second and Mila placed third in the 200-meter dash.
Melanie Q. dominated in the 3200-meter run, finishing first by over a minute. In high jump, Lizzie placed first and Ester W. placed second for the Vikes. Alisha A. scored fifth in Long Jump, and Isa E. scored third in Shot Put.
The team’s next meet is on Saturday, April 12 at Buckeye Valley.
