NFL Combine: The 2025 NFL scouting combine is set for Thursday, February 27, all the
way through to Sunday, March 2. The combine takes place at Lucas Oil Stadium in
Indianapolis, home of the Colts. Players will compete in the 40-yard dash, vertical jump,
bench press, broad jump, as well as position-specific drills, etc.
Countless GMs and head NFL coaches will be in the stands to observe the college stars to get a gauge on how their skills will stack up to the best in the NFL. Last year former Texas Longhorns,
wide receiver, Xavier Worthy, shocked the NFL world after he ran a 4.21 40-yard dash–
the fastest in combine history.
As the combine gets closer, there has been more and more talk about the potential number one draft pick. Unlike most years, there does not seem to be a clear cut answer of who the number one pick will be, as four players seem to be on the radar. Miami Hurricanes quarterback, Cam Ward, stands as the
favorite right now, but Penn State’ Abdul Carter stands not far behind. Rounding
out the list is the Colorado Buffalos cornerback and wide receiver, Travis Hunter, and
quarterback, Shedeur Sanders. With recent combine news, Abdul Carter’s draft stock
could be hindered as he may need surgery to repair his banged-up foot.
Being a huge Warriors fan, I,(Patrick) attended their NBA game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday, March 1. But I was disappointed as the Sixers upset the Dubs 124-119. The Warriors were missing Jimmy Butler, who has been stellar since joining the team, and Jonathan Kuminga, who has yet to return from his injury early in the season The Sixers got off to a quick start, but an early Curry flurry put the Dubs back in contention. The game went back and forth with the Sixers taking a 15 point lead into halftime. The Warriors clawed back throughout the second half, with the help of a rare Steph Curry dunk (his first since 2019). In the end, missed layups and a costly turnover cost the Dubs the game. Regardless, being able to watch Curry play is incomparable to any other basketball player in the world. There is no one who can shoot the shots he shoots, and his consistent off ball movement makes him the hardest player to guard in
the world, and consequently the most fun as well.
