If there was any doubt going into this week regarding who was the best in the Central Buckeye League, it was silenced. The Vikings made light work of their opponents and now look to make a playoff run.

In the title-clinching game against Bishop Ready, the Vikings kept it close. It wouldn’t be until late-game heroics from Caden I. to put the Vikings up with enough of a lead to hold on. Also notable was point guard Theo F. elevating up and blocking a shot off of the backboard. Caden led with 17, Theo had 15, and Jason had 10 in a 62-48 smackdown.

To end off an impressive season and become one of four Ohio teams to make it the distance undefeated, The Vikes hosted Franklin Heights. It was a quick death for the Falcons, as it took six and a half minutes just for them to get on the board. By then, a 15-3 deficit seemed out of reach. And it was. Led once again by Caden with 16, Jason had 15, and Anderson D. had 10 in the 77-38 bloodshed. The Vikings rounded out how they started the year: dominant.

The Maroon and Gray will defend the Mack one last time against Elgin in the first round of the OHSAA playoffs on Friday, February 21. It will be interesting to see if the Vikings can continue this momentum and who will step up in the clutch. Caden I. has become a focal point for this offense, recently leading the team in back-to-back games, especially with MJ J. becoming a top big man and Rey P. getting significant minutes off the bench.
