In the first round of the playoffs, girls basketball travelled to Fredericktown to face off against the Freddies. The Vikes struggled from the start, only putting up two points on the Freddies strong defense. Fredericktown took full advantage of the Vikes shortcomings and jumped ahead to a 12-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Vikes could not get it together offensively in the second quarter either, putting up single digit points while the Freddies put up eleven, ending at 23-7. Coming out of the break, the Vikes got hot, as Kendall O. and Kyndal S. were both hitting shots. The Freddies did the same and more, tallying sixteen points, ending the third quarter, 11-16. The Vikes failed to pull off a comeback, losing 29-57.

Despite the struggles of this season, the Vikes have a bright future losing just two seniors, and being led by predominantly sophomores and freshmen.

Hopefully the Vikings will use this off season to build on the talent they have, along with gaining some team chemistry with the up and coming freshman class, who can have a huge impact on the team’s success next season.
