Boys Swimming Earns First Place in OHSAA Central

It was a great week for the boys swim team as they traveled to Athens to compete in the OHSAA Central, East, and Southeast Division II championship for the chance to go to states for the third straight year. The squad dominated the five team competition, tallying 246 points. This bested second-place Granville with 205, third-place Wellington School with 182, and Saint Francis DeSales and Athens who both scored 163 points. 

Andy L. came in ninth place overall with two golds and one bronze, scoring 31 points for the team. William D. came in 14th overall with two golds and one silver, attaining 29 points. And Mircea B. placed 19th overall with two golds, tallying 28 points.

Additionally, William and Andy had top 15 overall performances. William also had the 14th best individual performance with a  57.88 in the 100-breast. Andy landed in 15th place with a 21.36 in the 50- free. 

The team will compete at states in Canton from Tuesday, February 18, through Friday, February 21. .
