How do you stop a freight train? You don’t if you’re up against the Vikings. The Vikes have put the entire CBL on watch and have yet to let their foot off the gas.
Starting with the rivalry game, the Maroon and Gray traveled to Bexley for an immediate thriller. Led by Jason S. with 18 points, the Vikings were unstoppable, holding the lead for all four quarters. They were pickpocketing the Lions left and right with a total of fourteen steals. If you’re a fan of dunks and bent rims, this was the game for you as Jason went to Slam City, USA, four times. Theo F. also found the pristine white nets with fifteen points of his own, as Caden I. followed them with ten.
Next up were the Warriors of Worthington Christian, the only school to come close in rivalry to the Lions, but not in score. It was a heavy defeat in the Mack from the get-go. The Warriors showed a lot of resilience, even when being faced with an improbable case. They never fully gave up. But make no mistake, the Vikings were playing the JV swing guys before halftime. Of that group, Dominic D. nailed a late three to send the game to the half. For reference, the Warriors scored 14 points in the first half. Theo had 12. It was a quick second half with a running clock– to fast for Worthington Christian as they mustered three points in the entire second half. The game thankfully ended, with the Vikings at 61-17. A mere 44-point difference for the statisticians out there.
The Vikings head to Buckeye Valley in a big CBL game on Tuesday, February 4, before returning home for Beechcroft on Friday, February, 7, and one final time on Saturday, February 8, for Senior Night against Horizon Science.
