On Saturday, January 25, Academy’s wrestling team was back in action at the Gahanna Alumni Memorial Tournament. Santiago P. went winless in the 144 weight class, getting pinned twice, once to a third-place finisher from Gahanna Lincoln and another to a senior from Walnut Hills, and thus, failing to qualify past the Round Robin. Ishaan V. went winless in the 150, struggling in matches against Bloom Carroll, Hamilton Township, Gahanna Lincoln, and Northland. Ishaan especially struggled in one match, getting pinned in just 22 seconds against Brennan B. from Hamilton Township. Henry S. continued the winless trend, dropping both matches against wrestlers from Northland and Gahanna Lincoln, finishing third in his group and failing to qualify past the Round Robin. 

The team travels to Franklin Heights for the CBL Tournament on Saturday, February 2, with the first matches set for 10 a.m.
