On Wednesday, January 15, Academy’s wrestling squad hosted Africentric in the Barton Room. Freshmen Vikings got after it, with Baron D. and Paul A. noting their first career varsity wins with a pin from Baron D. Junior captain, Santiago P., said, “They both work extremely hard in practice. It’s no surprise they were able to win.” Henry S. also won his match.

The team wrestled again on Saturday, January 18, at North Union. Sophomore, Alex L. was pinned twice and lost another on a technical fall making him 0-3 on the day. Freshman Baron D. and Captain Santiago P. each won one and lost two on the day. Henry S. secured two wins but unfortunately dropped two matches and didn’t place.

With the current wind chill in central Ohio, the team’s matches for the week have been cancelled.
