In its final two meets before the CBL Championships, boys swimming settled into a groove. Hosting a tri-meet on Thursday, January 16, the team won 78-62 over Wellington and lost 73-82 against Bishop Hartley.
Several boys secured victories, including Justin L. in the 200 free with 2:03.14, a personal best and 8.4% improvement. Likewise, Max B. eclipsed his record in the 100 back, swimming 1:12.19. Other gold finishes include Ethan L. in the 100 fly (58.37), Luke L. for 100 free (53.86), plus the 200 medley relay (1:49.86), 200 free relay (1:41.57), and 400 free relay (3:40.97).
Two days later, in the Northeast Classic at Canton’s Branin Natatorium on Saturday, January 18, the boys placed 27th out of 67 teams, tallying a score of 23. Notable performances in the finals include William D. placing 10th in the 100 breast (1:00.55) and 16th in the 50 free (22.65) with a 2.7% improvement and personal best. Ethan L. clinched two 15th-place finishes, swimming 2:03.49 in the 200 IM and 55.44 in the 100 Back.
Boys swimming will be the first team to enter the postseason on Saturday, January 25, as they host the Central Buckeye League Championships. Good luck to our CA Swimmies!
