Boys basketball captured a huge victory in what some have already dubbed the central Ohio “game of the year.” They faced Bishop Ready at home on Saturday, January 12, with both teams going into the matchup undefeated, meaning there were massive conference championship implications heading in.

The Vikes found themselves with a double digit lead going into halftime, thanks in part to jaw dropping blocks from Jason S. and Harmon G, as well as a fast-break dunk from Caden I. The Silver Knights came out of the break firing, and narrowed the gap throughout the second half, taking the lead with two minutes to go. Academy fired back, but free throw troubles prevented the Vikes from closing out the win. Theo F. hit a layup to tie the game up with less than a minute remaining. 

The game went into overtime, where once again the two teams found themselves tied with four seconds left. Jason sized his defender up, then drove to the basket to deliver a tough reverse layup at the buzzer to win the game.
