To start off the week the Vikings traveled to CSG on December 10, for a key in conference match for the Vikes who were still in search of a win. In the first quarter, the Unicorns jumped to a quick 10-0 start. A three-pointer by Kendall O. gave the Vikings some hope, but CSG answered rback with an easy layup, for a 12-3 lead. But the Vikes were not giving up, going on a eight-point scoring rampage, thanks to key shots by Morgan S., Kendall O. and Kyndal S. The Unicorns didn’t let the excitement last long, as they hit four major threes, further extending the gap. Coming out of half time, CSG ruled, limiting the Vikes to zero points in the third quarter. The quick four points off of fast break layups from the Unicorns demoralized Academy, as they finished with just four points in the second half, ending the game in a 18-44 blowout.

After a five-game loss, the Vikings had the opportunity to revive the season. On December 12, the girls headed to Bexley, with both teams struggling and looking for their first wins. The game was off to a quick start, both teams trading points back and forth. The Vikings claimed the lead after a corner-three by Abby S. and piled on another two after a key steal by Morgan S., ending  with 15-11. To lead off the second quarter the Lions marched down, hit a three, and got a stop on defense, it was looking like Lions were about to gain the lead when sophomore Kyndal S. also had a key steal, finishing it with a layup — a momental play for the Vikes — to maintain the momentum. Neither team pulled away in the second quarter, going into half at a close 26-28. Coming out of the break the Vikings expanded their lead after multiple key steals from Abby S., Kyndal S. And Morgan S. giving them a 32-40 margin going into the final quarter which led to 50-41 win.

For the Vikes final matchup of the week, they hosted Grandview Heights in the Mack and jumped out to a quick first quarter lead off shots from Kendall O. and Abby S. ending with a 16-16 tie. With around a minute left in the second quarter, Kendall O. Was hit a key three giving the Vikes a 27-24 lead going into half. After halftime, the game became a shoot out, controlled by the Vikes, maintaining a four-point lead going into the fourth. But the Bobcats got a second wind after tying the game and then taking the lead 43-45 forcing the Vikes to take a timeout. After this, the Vikings let the game slip away to a 52-57.

The girls next game is against Worthington Christian on December 20.
