Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day (FSAD) celebrates the dedication and impact of educators and support staff who shape our community Last year, student council introduced Babysitting Night as part of our FSAD events. The program was designed to provide teachers and staff with young children a well-deserved evening of rest while their little ones enjoyed a safe, fun-filled evening under the care of student council members and students who volunteer for CASE, our after school programs for lower schoolers.
This year, Babysitting Night featured two sessions, with the first on Friday, December 6, and the next scheduled for February 13. On December 6, the Schoedinger Theater transformed into a festive “Winter Wonderland” where children participated in creative activities, played games, and ended the evening with a cozy movie night.
The evening began with check-in and pizza dinner from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. Children gathered into two groups based on grade level. Explorers and 1st graders enjoyed a storybook reading and crafted pipe cleaner snowflakes, while 2nd through 5th graders made slime and played interactive group games. From 7:30 to 9:00 p.m, all attendees came together and watched a movie, concluding the night with hot chocolate to take home.
Babysitting Night brought joy to the children through crafts and games and reinforced Academy’s commitment to supporting its faculty and staff. It stands as a meaningful way to honor those who dedicate so much to the school community while giving them a chance to relax and recharge.
Kudos to the Student Council!
