Girls basketball started off its season at home on November 26, facing off against Bishop Ready. The first quarter finished with 8 to 9 in favor of the Silver Knights. A few seconds into the second quarter, the Vikes claimed the lead off of a three-pointer from Kendall O. The score was neck and neck, until Kendall O. hit yet another three, giving the Vikes a 23-21 lead going into the half. The third quarter was a close 32-31, but the Silver Knights pulled away in the fourth, taking the lead and never giving it back, winning 41-37.

The Vikings traveled to Franklin Heights on December 2, looking for their first win of the season, but the Falcons dominated throughout and took home the win, 41-51.

The Vikes final matchup of the week was against Whitehall in the Mack for its second in-conference matchup of the season. Both teams hung with each other at the start until Whitehall’s defense had multiple key steals, claiming a 14-8 lead. A similar story played out in the second quarter, as Whitehall tallied many fast break layups, giving the Rams a 26-19 lead at half. After the break, the Rams on fire and scored eight straight points that were unanswered by the Vikes expanding the lead 34-19. The Vikes failed to come back from the deficit, losing 58-44.

Looking to claim their first win, the Vikings will travel to CSG to play the Unicorns on December 10.
