On Wednesday, December 12, the girls swim team welcomed Bishop Watterson, Fairfield Union, and Licking Heights for its home opener. The Vikes showed up, beating the Hornets 112-49 and the Falcons 114-41. Unfortunately, Academy fell short to the Eagles, 62-119. Lillian B. and Olivia L. were key contributors, winning first in the 200-yd free and 100-yd free, respectively. The relay unit of Lillian B., Madelyn E., Olivia L., and Clara S. tallied runner-up in the 200-yd medley and 200-yd free relay.

The Vikings carried this momentum into Saturday’s meet at The Ohio State University. With a composite score of 183, the team placed 4th out of 20 teams at the Neb Reed Invitational. The relay unit excelled once again, placing second in the 200-yd free relay. Olivia L. took home bronze in the 50-yd free.

Academy will welcome Pickerington North and Whetstone to its natatorium on Thursday, December 12.
