Boys golf eased into its week by welcoming New Albany for a scrimmage on Tuesday, September 17, in preparation for the real match against the Eagles on Thursday. The Vikings played disappointingly but managed to beat their opponent.

Two days later, the boys traveled to the New Albany Country Club in hopes of taking down New Albany for the second time this week. The Vikings did not disappoint. They dominated the Eagles with a team score of 159. Junior Jaxon C. led the team with a score of 37. Ethan B. trailed 3 strokes behind, shooting a 40. Alex S. and Jack W. each contributed a 41.

The Vikes failed to keep this momentum rolling into Saturday’s match against  the Golden Bears, Academy shot a team score of 418, resulting in an 11th place finish at the UA Invite. Jack W. led the team with an 80, followed by Jaxon C.’s 83. Ethan B., Gavin M., and Alex S. each shot an 85. The Vikings captured one win and one loss for the week.

On Monday, the boys begin play in the OHSAA tournament at the Denison Golf Club.
