On Tuesday, September 10, the boys soccer team returned to action as it traveled to Olentangy to face the Berlin Bears. Coming into this game the Vikes knew this would be a big test for them as Berlin is a D1 school and second in the Ohio Capital-Cardinal Conference. As the game began, Olentangy’s offense was clicking as the Vikings could not respond when the Bears tallied their three first half-goals. The Vikings offense, on the other hand, struggled in the first half and failed to create a score of their own. By half-time the score read 3-0 with the Bears leading. The second half proved more of the same for both teams as once again the Vikings offense could not formulate any offensive pressure as the Bears capitalized on the Vikes poor defense and tallied the game’s final goal, 4-0, as Berlin improved its season’s record to 4-2-1, while the Vikings dropped to 5-2-1.

Later in the week on Thursday, September 12, the Vikings hosted the Bishop Watterson Eagles, another tough opponent. The game began slowly as both the Eagles and Vikings marched down the field–but ultimately with no results. Late in the first period, the Eagles took advantage of a corner kick to tally the game’s first goal. The Vikings responded with a goal by Graham J., tying the score at one apiece. The teams were not tied for long as the Eagles marched down the field with a series of nice passes and snuck their second goal of the game past the Vikings. By halftime the score read 2-1 with the Eagles in the lead. The second half was uneventful on the offensive side as neither team could materialize any offensive pressure. The Eagles won, 2-1, and the Vikings dropped their second straight game. The Vikings concluded their three-game week on Saturday, September 14, as the Columbus International Lions traveled to Hondros field. The Vikings responded in a big way to their two

The Vikes return to action on Monday, September 16, as they welcome the Westerville Central Warhawks to Hondros.
