The girls cross country team traveled to Watkins Memorial for its weekly contest. The main event was the 5-kilometer race for Divisions 1 through 3, boys and girls. The Vikings raced in D-3 along teams from Worthington Christian, Wellington, Barnesville, and fourteen other schools from across Ohio.

The Vikings showed out with three runners gaining medals in the top 20. Miranda B-Y., Melanie Q., and Clara S. brought home some hardware from the McGowan Invitational. 

Clara led the Vikings with a 5th overall finish and a time of 21:09. Miranda was right behind her in 9th with a time of 22:11. Melanie finished in 17th with a final time of 22:27. 

Claire C. and Sophie L. round out the Vikings in the top 50 with Sophie finishing in 23:01 and Claire in 23:57.

The Vikings return to action on Saturday, September 14, at Newark for the Newark Cross Country Invitational.
