Girls field hockey welcomed Hudson to Carlin Fields this past Saturday, August for the Vikes third contest of the season. The girls have been on a tear to start the season, beating Dublin Jerome and Worthington Kilbourne with a combined score of 9-1. Hudson, who was 3-0 coming into the game, was also battling to stay undefeated.

The game was a low-scoring affair, with neither team gaining much momentum on offense. The Explorer’s lone goal came in the (insert quarter here) quarter. The Vikes continued to struggle offensively, until a goal by Katie V late in the fourth quarter tied the game.

Regulation ended with the score tied 1-1. The Vikes got the ball back with seconds remaining in overtime. Carson K received the ball off a corner, and quickly passed it to Bebe S, who nailed the one-timer to seal the victory for the Vikes.

Academy, now 3-0 on the year, will be back in action on Monday, August 26, when they take on Olentangy Orange at home. They will then face Bishop Hartley on Thursday, August 29, at home.
