On Friday, April 19, Service Board gathered in the theater to hear five candidates vying for president as they answered questions from Service Board’s current leaders. Angela B, Molly F., Carolina M.,  Arnav N., and Priya R. each offered their plans and insights for how they would improve not just the organization, but also the school’s commitment to service. Service Board president, Justin A., and vice-president, Arya C., asked both light-hearted and serious questions about their plans for the organization and the leadership they have to offer.

When asked about their “Roman Empire” (something that you cannot stop thinking about), Arnav cited Jojo Siwa’s new song “Karma” while Molly picked Trader Joe’s packaging. Regarding ideas to improve the Service Board, Carolina suggested bringing back paper sign ups for events to make it easier to keep track of who is doing what event rather than constantly checking Mobile Serve. Angela offered to start a tik-tok account to engage the school in more service and to streamline the Mobile Serve app. When asked why she wanted to run for president, Priya called back to her family’s history of service and wanted to continue that tradition by becoming president.

Shapers created the questions which all five juniors knew ahead of time, so they could come up with responses and make the best impression possible.

The candidate who receives the most votes will be elected as Service Board president while the candidate with the second most will serve as vice-president.

Voting will take place Wednesday, April 24, after the candidates give brief speeches to the upper school in an assembly.
