Boys basketball concluded its regular season on Friday, February 23, in a thrilling 56-53 victory over Columbus South. It was Coach Jeff Warstler’s 200th win as Head Coach, the most wins by any head coach in the team’s history.
The game went back and forth, with neither team building a considerable lead. The Vikes managed to close out the game thanks to clutch free throws from Jason S. in the final 10 seconds. Theo F. led all scorers with 23 points, going 5/5 from downtown.
The Vikes finished the season with an 18-4 record, including 9-3 in conference play which is good for second in the CBL.
This week the Vikes host West Jefferson to open up the playoffs. The date and time is yet to be determined.
