Boys Basketball Loses CBL Title

Cole S. (Caroline M./Media)

Boys basketball concluded its regular season in a 47-35 home loss to longtime rival Worthington Christian on February 16, as the Warriors took home the first Central Buckeye League Championship. Despite missing out on the CBL title, the Vikes managed another stellar regular season, finishing 17-4 overall (9-3 in conference play).

After the game’s slow start, the Vikes managed to build a 10 point lead going into halftime. But the Warriors came into the second half firing on all cylinders, quickly erasing the deficit. They continued to string together a strong third quarter and went into the fourth quarter with the lead. The fourth quarter went back and forth, but in the end Academy had no answer to the Warriors shooting barrage.

The Vikings now look ahead to next Friday, March 1, when they begin the playoffs at home against the South Bulldogs.
