Ice Hockey Bears Two Defeats

Nearing the season’s end, the Vikings faced off against Watterson at Chiller Easton on Saturday, January 27 at 6 p.m. This was the program’s Youth Night, and the rink was filled with many young Vikings. Guests enjoyed pizza and snacks n the lobby before the game, as the team offered tee shirts to fans before getting on the ice. 

To open the game, the Maroon and Grey earned its first goal off of a penalty shot in the first period. Dominic C. sent the puck soaring into the back of the net, but the Eagles answered with a goal to end the first period. 

Heading into the second period, the Vikings received a five-minute penalty on which the Eagles capitalized. Waterson added 2 more goals to its total during the power play. In the end, the Vikings could not find success in the offensive zone. The final score read 7-1. 

Following the loss, the Vikings met up with Gahanna on Sunday, January 28 at 3:30 p.m. at Chiller Ice Works. The Lions started the game with intensity, scoring 10 goals in the first two periods. The scoreboard read 13-0 at the end of the three periods. 

The Vikes return to action on Sunday, February 4 at 5:50 p.m. for their final regular season game. The event will be held at Chiller Easton.
