Signing Day for Academy’s College Athletes

On January 10, the Athletic Department held its first signing day of the year with five of our student athletes signing their National Letter of Intent to continue their athletic career in college. 

The first signee was Justin A., who committed to play Division 1 football at the University of Pennsylvania. Justin, a football team captain, led the team in receiving yards and passing touchdowns. He also competes in ice hockey and track and field. Justin was awarded Second Team All-CBL this past season, as well as the Ernie Godfrey Award for success in both football and academics.

Arya C. committed to Stonehill College to play woman’s tennis. Arya is a captain of the tennis team and led the team to runner up in the state tournament as well as first in the doubles state championship. She was awarded First Team All-CBL this season.

Lauren G. signed with Babson College to play field hockey. Lauren was elected captain of the field hockey team in her senior year. She was also awarded First Team CBL, First Team All-COFHL and First Team All-Ohio. Lauren also received various academic awards for her work in the classroom. This past season she was named the 2023 CBL Player of the Year.

Morgan H. committed to play women’s lacrosse at Lafayette College. She is a two-time captain of the lacrosse team. Last season she was named First Team Mid State League, Second Team All-Region, and Academic All-MSL.

Finally, Ryne W. signed with Denison University’s men’s lacrosse team. Ryne is a two-time captain of the lacrosse team as well as captain of the football team. Ryne was 1st Team All-State and All CBL for football and the Central Buckeye League Co-Lineman of the Year.
