Boys and girls varsity wrestling performed well in their first matches of the year on Saturday, December 10, with many Vikings placing. The boys played in the Olentangy tournament. The girls were at the Western Brown tournament. Each wrestler battled in 6 matches against students from 7 schools across Ohio.

At Olentangy, Parker K. and James L. competed in the 165-pound weight class, with Parker achieving champion status and James earning 4th. In the 215 pound section, Philip N. fought his way to 3rd place. Tiago P. and James both won their first matches ever, making James’s high finish particularly impressive.

At Western Brown, where 200 girls competed, both Nina K. and Ceci R. wrestled up a division at 135 and 110 pounds, respectively. Nina was champion in her class, and Ceci came 3rd.

The boys will host a meet in the Barton Room on Thursday, December 14 at 5:00 p.m.

The girls travel to an 11:00 a.m. Lutheran West match on Wednesday, December 27.
